Every programmer knows how cumbersome it is to use constantly new and different software tools to create all the separate types of projects that have become necessary in our modern world … iOS apps, Android apps, web apps, websites, Windows Desktop apps, Apple Desktop apps, PWAs …

Wouldn’t it be awesome if we could find one single framework that would remove all the complexity and produce all these different flavors of apps from a SINGLE codebase, so that we can maintain our applications by just changing our codebase once for all our different apps.

To find out if a framework like this exist, I had the following interview with Heitor Ramon Ribeiro, Lead frontend engineer at Kovi (YC W19). Heitor has been working professionally with the web since 2005, but was coding HTML and JS since 2000. In this long time, he has passed through a lot of companies, built 3 startups. He also did some consulting jobs and led some web development teams. Heitor has dedicated his professional life to software architecture and web development (frontend mostly).

- Could you tell me about your projects and how Quasar fits in?

Since 2018, I work with Quasar on almost every Vue project that I was the lead frontend engineer and could be a greenfield project.

Quasar brought the power of a powerful CLI with a great UI. Saving countless hours of work and making life easier for the developers.

- Could you tell us about the Quasar team?

The Quasar team is a small group of people that want to share their time and knowledge to improve the Vue community. Everyone has a particular skill that is used in the process of the development of the framework. We try to bring the best framework for everyone. This can not be possible without the great mind behind that is Razvan Stoenescu.

- What is the future of system development?

I don’t know how the future will be, but I know that Vue 3 is here, and it will be a nuke on the frontend framework wars. With everything that the core team has developed and the new concepts, Vue leads the way for genuinely agnostic frontend development.

- How do you think Quasar fits into this future?

Quasar will be embracing the Vue 3 in the future release, and there are some discussions about the full convert of the code to TypeScript.

With the CLI helping in the development process, I think there is no stop for the Quasar-Framework to be established as Vue’s best framework.

- Is there anything you want to add?

If you guys want to learn more about Vue.js 3 and improve your knowledge, my book is available :)
